Capcom veteran heads new Tencent studio

Tencent Games, through its subsidiary LightSpeed ​​Studios, announced the creation of a new game development studio, LightSpeed ​​Japan Studio, with offices in Tokyo and Osaka. The team will focus on creating original AAA action titles and will be led by Capcom veteran Hideaki Itsuno.

Hideaki Itsuno left Capcom in September after 30 years. He began his career with the company in 1994 and over the years he contributed to the creation of such games as Star Gladiator, Power Stone, Devil May Cry 3 and 4. His last work at Capcom was the action role-playing game Dragon’s Dogma II.

In a statement, Itsuno noted that ing LightSpeed ​​Studios was an exciting new chapter for him and expressed his enthusiasm for creating original AAA titles for the global gaming community. LightSpeed ​​Studios President Jerry Chen also emphasized the importance of Itsuno’s appointment, calling it a significant step in the company’s expansion and commitment to creating the highest quality games.
