The creators of the isometric Action RPG Titan Quest II revealed a new detail of the mythological basis of the game, focusing on Moray – mythical patronesses of fate from the ancient Greek pantheon. These characters first appeared in the announcing trailer and, apparently, will play a significant role in the development of the plot.
In ancient Greek mythology, fate was considered an inevitable force that determines every step of the mortal long before his birth. The Greeks believed that three sisters control this – Cloto, Lahasis and Atrop. The first spin the thread of life, the second measures its length, and the third breaks it off at the appointed hour. In Titan Quest II, these three hypostasis are combined into a single creature representing different stages of life, but with a common person.
Unlike most Olympians, which are portrayed with human weaknesses and ions, Morias stand outside of time and higher even Zeus. According to myths, no one can change the fact that they have already woven into the fabric of the universe.
